[Review] Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor

Middle-earth™: Shadow of Mordor™ - Game of the Year Edition_20171230005907

Vengeance does not dull pain. It sustains it…. forever.-Celebrimbor

So I finally got a PS4 and what’s the first game I’m playing on it? Shadow of Mordor! I know I’m a little late to the party, but I’m broke and I live in the last gen when it comes to gaming.

Shadow of Mordor is a third person fantasy action game. It borrows elements and mechanics from games like Assassin’s Creed and the combat system is pretty much a rip off of games like the Batman Arkham series, but they expand on and add things to make it feel like it’s not just a copy.

[Review] Jotun

Thora, the undead viking warrior!

Jotun is an indie game by Thunder Lotus Games. It’s made up of two things: exploration and boss fights. You play as a female viking warrior who died a dishonorable death and has to prove herself to the Norse gods (the Jotun) to be able to enter Valhalla. It’s a BEAUTIFUL hand drawn 3rd person action-exploration game with fantastic presentation and quality.

[Review] Max Payne 3

“The way I see it there’s two types of people, those who spend their lives trying to build a future and those who spend their lives trying to rebuild the past.”

Max Payne 3 is a gritty action movie 3rd person shooter with bullet time mechanics. Max is back and at first not much has changed. He’s still depressed about the past and drinking at the local bar where he meets his old pal, Passos. Max doesn’t remember him but he says they knew each other from the academy. Then they drink and catch up until they get into a fight with some trouble making Jersey Shore wannabe jerks. Passos helps Max fight and get away and tells him about a job opportunity, something for Max to do instead of drowning himself in booze and pills. He’s reluctant at first but eventually agrees. The job involves working with Passos as private security for a rich family in Brazil but you soon find out he took on more than just protecting rich people.

[Review] Castlevania: Lament of Innocence

Castlevania Lament of Innocence is a 3d Symphony of the Night on PS2. It has a terrible story with mediocre voice acting and clunky combat, but I love it anyways.

Why your asking? I guess because I love Castlevania and fantasy action games. I love the combo system in combat, all the unlockables and different items. I like the “no right or wrong way to play” combat system and the game’s simple overall concept. Your rewarded for exploration and above all that I had fun playing it.

The story is this: Our hero Leon’s bride to be was kidnapped by Dracula and now he has come to Dracula’s castle to challenge him and get her back. While running through the forest he was stopped by a mysterious man named Rinaldo Gandalf, I mean Gandalfi, who for no real reason helps Leon by filling him in on the situation, giving him a whip and selling him items. He also repeatedly tells Leon that it’s a game! I don’t know, I think they could have come up with ANYTHING better than Dracula likes stealing women so that their lovers can come and fight through his castle to get them back because he thinks its a fun hobby… Just don’t expect it to blow you away with a deep and rewarding story. I shouldn’t be too hard on the story, after all it’s the basics of what a video game story needs. It’s simple motivation, rescue your love interest. Isn’t that similar to the story for Mario Bros? I think I’m comparing apples to oranges here… Continue reading [Review] Castlevania: Lament of Innocence

Meet The Cooper Clan

We already talked about Sly and his Cooper Gang so today we’re going to talk about the Cooper Clan.

The Cooper Clan is an infamous line of honorable master thieves. They’ve pulled numerous heists over the years by the different members and they’re known for having an honor code where they only steal from people that deserve it. They don’t steal from ordinary people. Each member is one of Sly’s ancestors.
